About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and talented Drafter to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and plans according to project requirements and the agreed budget constraints while maintaining structural integrity.
This position requires excellent problem-solving skills, outstanding communication abilities, and a high level of creativity. The successful candidate must have experience working with design software such as Sketchup, Rhino, AutoCAD or Adobe Creative Suite.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret clients’ briefs and develop design concepts according to their needs.
- Communicate and update clientsβ about the project progress on a regular basis.
- Work collaboratively with architects, contractors, and other design professionals to ensure project requirements are met.
- Develop detailed drawings and plans for all aspects of a project including space planning, lighting plans, furniture layouts and material selections.
- Coordinate with the Design Coordinator to establish work targets, design schedules and checklists to ensure that projects are completed on time while maintaining the companyβs quality and standards.
- Coordinate with the Head of Design & Planning and Design Coordinator in creating design framework, standards and guidelines
- Regularly review technical drawings in junction with site condition for error mitigation purposes
- Regularly update the timesheet (daily) and your work into the master sheet (biweekly) for general update and record keeping.
- Conduct site visits regularly and create As-Built Drawings to show all minor and major modification made to original drawings
- Attend design & planning meetings for a progress update, design planning and discussions.
- Present designs to clients and take feedback on board while remaining mindful of the agreed budget & structural integrity.
Required Qualification
- A Diploma III in Architecture, Interior Design, or another related field.
- At least 2 yearsβ experience as a Drafter in a design & construction team setting.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to interpret clientsβ briefs accurately.
- Great organization, problem-solving, and time-management skills
- Experience working with budgets within projects when selecting materials etc.
- Strong visualization ability combined with excellent presentation skills.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, prose, slides and/or sheets) in both English and Bahasa
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working collaboratively with architects, contractors, and other design professionals.
- Working knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD Drafter and Adobe Creative Suite
